Fall decor: 5 easy steps to create your fall table set
Updated: May 18, 2020
Hoping to decorate your home to celebrate the new season but don't know where to start? Well, it doesn't have to be complicated and you can start by focusing on one area only and develop your skills and ideas within time.
Why not start with your table setting? Make the most of family get together and/or dinner parties in your own home. Impress your guests and have an excuse to have fun setting the scene to welcome them to celebrate the season with you.
Here are 5 easy steps to follow when setting your table for a fall celebration:
1 - Choose your colour palette
You don't necessarily need to go with orange or a similar colour that is traditionally seen during fall. This year, I dared to go with pink hues and I'm loving it.
2 - Pumpkins
The star of the show. This element combines fall & the halloween season. If you love Halloween, but don't want to embrace the scary decor, pumpkins are the best choice to represent both themes so spread as many pumpkins as you can.
I used pumpkins for table arrangement, but also replaced the napkin rings with cute tiny pumpkins on the plates. Fall mood, we are on!
3 - Centrepiece
Create a centrepiece to be your focal point. Everything else will be added around it. For my centrepiece I used a white vase and artificial pink peonies. I used artificial flowers because of their practicality even though I love the real flowers and all the smells. For our busy lives, sometimes low maintenance is the key with the added bonus that they can be re used many times and in different scenarios. Also you can find amazing artificial flowers nowadays. I bought mine in Dunnes Stores and the quality is perfect.
3 - Add candles
Candles help to create a cozy mood and you can enhance your colour palette choosing colourful candles. Its a simple touch that has a big impact.
4 - Add greens
The green breaks the pink colours and makes the decor more lively. I added some green leaves under the candles and pumpkins using them as a natural table runner as I went for a naked table. No table cloth to embrace the wood and natural elements.
5 - Choose a statement napkin
The napkin can make the key difference in your table setting. I chose a set of napkins with a gentle gold shimmer. Combined with gold placemats and gold details in the pumpikns, the glam factor was definitely more evident. Some Burgundy or blush napkins would have been very suitable in this scheme too.
